My boss vacuumed up a four foot fluorescent bulb that broke on the carpet floor (It was cold, not recently used) in the hallway outside of our office door, while the central air was running. I'm pregnant, and therefore concerned... should I be? Was I exposed to mercury?

I needed to know where to take the bulb since it can't be put in the normal garbage. I'm not going to pay to have a service pick up ONE bulb. If you could elaborate on this subject a little more it would be helpful.

I had no idea that there could be mercury in my fluroscent bulbs. Kind of scary. At least now I know how to dispose of them!
